NORWAY BRASIL CONNECTION is an international collaboration that brings together talents from four countries on the stage of AMAJAZZON’25.

Guitarist Hans Mathisen and saxophonist Petter Wettre, both from Norway, join American pianist Cliff Korman and Brazilians Augusto Mattoso (bass) and Kiko Freitas (drums).

The result is a unique fusion of sounds: the sophistication of the European style, the power of American jazz, and the rhythmic richness of Brazilian grooves.

marreco's land

Marrecos Land was formed 20 years ago by musicians and teachers from Amapá, focusing on the fusion of instrumental music with Amazonian rhythms such as marabaixo and batuque.

With performances on local, national, and international stages, the group released its first original EP in 2022 and has already taken part in events such as International Jazz Day and Cafezoca Jazz 2025.

Singer, composer, and conductor Aga Kiepuszewska, renowned for the originality and versatility of her career on the European scene, invites the Carlos Gomes Choir for a special performance.

Founded in 1995, the Choir is a national and international reference, awarded at festivals in Italy, Greece, and Austria. With three albums released and collaborations with the Symphonic Orchestra of Theatro da Paz, it continues to stand out for its excellence and artistic innovation.

For the first time in Brazil, acclaimed pianist and composer Uriel Herman takes the stage at AMAJAZZON’25.

The concert marks the debut of his latest project, which he will develop in the country, presenting an exclusive performance prepared especially for the festival.

MANUEL DE OLIVEIRA FEAT. BIANCA GISMONTI

With over 20 years of career, guitarist and composer Manuel de Oliveira moves through themes of identity, territory, and transformation, blending flamenco, fado, and South American sounds.

Winner of the Carlos Paredes Award 2023, he has performed with Brad Mehldau, Chick Corea, and Mike Stern. Together with pianist Bianca Gismonti, daughter of Egberto Gismonti, he brings to AMAJAZZON a unique encounter marked by lyricism, intensity, and a fusion of jazz and MPB.
